Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) employers with 50 or more full-time equivalent (FTE) employees must report on their health insurance coverage offerings for the 2015 year. This reporting is due starting January 2016. IRS Forms 1094-C and 1095-C are used to report the information required under Section 6056. These forms have detailed information about offers of health coverage and enrollment in health coverage for employees and dependents. Those employers that offer self-insured plans have additional reporting requirements using Forms 1094-B and 1095-B.

    Beginning in the 4th quarter of this year, business owners will begin to understand the requirements to comply with the Affordable Care Act and try to move forward with a plan of action both for health coverage and the reporting requirements. Time will be of the utmost importance. We strongly advise all our employers who do not have a plan in place to begin the process now, as it will be more difficult to comply with the new Healthcare provision by January 1, 2016 due to time constraints. We will be glad to assist you in every way possible so that you will be in compliance January 1, 2016.  Mr. Bruce Wilson can also guide you through the process of setting up a plan for health insurance if need be.

    We have purchased the software to do the reporting service; however, we must know by August 15, 2015 whether you want this service. It will take many of our man-hours and information from you and your health insurance agent/broker to populate and maintain the data for the forms. Ask your Agent/Broker if they are going to do the reporting for your company. If not, we can.
